Short Tube (Shorty)

These are more compact and feature individual tubes of varying lengths. Although they produce less overall power than long tube types (averaging 5 to 15hp), shorty headers maximize low to medium torque, making them ideal for street use. They’re also easier to install, often as direct replacements for stock manifolds. Less design complexity and lower material costs also mean they’re considerably cheaper.

Hybrid Tri-Y Headers

Tri-Y headers feature design elements of both long and short-tube variants, merging pairs of individual (or primary) tubes in a Y profile before entering the collector pipe. A key benefit is that they optimize power and torque across the entire rev range, meaning vehicles pull harder from standstill and reach higher redlines when paired with other performance mods, such as cold air intakes and high-flow catalytic converters.
