coffee_plungerCoffee snub or not, you certainly like sipping your morning energy drink out of a right vessel. And above all, you probably like it strong and fresh. But getting coffee just the way you like it requires the right equipment. Now, before you run to the store and buy a coffee maker, think about the type of coffee you prefer, how much coffee you drink on a daily basis and how fast you want it done. If a coffee maker or an espresso machine are too much work for you, then you are a coffee plunger person.

Coffee plunger, also known as a French press, is a glass jar which comes with a lid and a mesh filter attached to the plunger unit. It is one of the oldest and easiest ways of brewing coffee. The difficult part is choosing a plunger.

Which Coffee Plunger Brand Is the Best?

There are many brands you can consider, from lower to the upper end. Each one of them offers the same result – brewed coffee. But it is the quality of brewed coffee that matters. When looking for a coffee plunger use these 4 criteria to make the right selection:

  • and quality of brewed coffee.

Our top pick is Bodum coffee plunger as it satisfies all 4 above mentioned criteria. The brand has been on the market since 1944 and is known for simplicity and unique design that is functional and affordable. After all, a good cup of coffee does not have to be expensive.

How to Use Your Bodum Coffee Plunger

  • Thoroughly clean your coffee plunger prior to using it with a warm soapy water. Rinse well and dry.

  • Prior to making your brew, warm the glass cylinder container by filling it with hot water. Leave the hot water in the container for few minutes and then pour the water out.

  • Now place ground coffee into the pot. Recommended dose is 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per 1 cup of water.

  • Pour just enough hot water into your Bodum coffee plunger to cover the coffee. Stir with a wooden or plastic spoon then fill the container with rest of the hot water.

  • Place the plunger unit on top, close the lid and allow coffee to brew for about 4 minutes.

  • By applying low pressure, slowly slide down the plunger unit.

  • Pour coffee into your favourite drinking vessel and add milk and sugar to taste.
