Simple Ideas to Help You Spruce Up Your Home for Spring

Every year, as soon as spring arrives and the sun starts peeking through the clouds again, the passionate home décor enthusiast inside me awakes. It’s not that I don’t care how my house looks during winter, it’s just that its gloomy lifeless colours don’t really inspire me. Springtime, on the other hand, does, which is why each year I celebrate its beginning by making several tasteful and rather inexpensive changes to my residence.

Now, I know that some of you might have redecorated both your indoor and your outdoor living space by now (it’s October, after all), but if you are still looking for ideas to help you refresh your home for spring and summer, then let me share with you some of my favourite ones.

The Power of a Vibrant Colour

Painting the walls of a room is perhaps the easiest and the cheapest way to breathe new life into it. It’s amazing how a single bold colour can turn your living room, dining room, or bedroom into a whole new world. Spring greens and rosy pinks give a room a garden feel, whereas rich red walls, when combined with cream or beige fabric pieces of furniture, can easily transform a lounge room or a bedroom into a romantic and inviting space.

Small Changes Can Do Wonders

If you are deeply in love with your grey walls or your unique wallpapers and therefore you don’t wish to part with them, you can always spice up your living room with the aid of as many floral throw pillows as you can afford to buy, glass flower vases and fruit bowls, books, and beautiful watercolour paintings.

Moreover, one or two new items of furniture can sometimes make a huge difference. For example, a single elegant modern coffee table for your living room (as a replacement for your old and possibly boring one) or two new stylish deck chairs for your backyard can make the whole place much more interesting and appealing. Speaking of outdoor living areas, I should mention that wooden deck chairs go perfectly with wooden garden benches, which is why they are such a popular duo.

Furniture Rearrangement – When Spending Money Is Not an Option

Who says that you have to spend a small fortune on brand new pieces of indoor and outdoor furniture in order to freshen up your home for spring? Who says that you have to spend money at all? Sometimes, a fun new furniture arrangement can do the trick flawlessly, and it won’t cost you a dime.
