How to Take Proper Care of the Normal Skin Type
Even though the advancements in technology in the world of beauty have resulted in so many amazing products, sometimes the opposite effect can occur as some of the substances in these products can be harmful for the skin. Unlike these ingredients, dermatologists state that natural ingredients cannot pose such harm to one’s skin.
Since they contain no alcohol, parabens and many other harmful ingredients, natural skincare products are gaining more popularity among people. And while there is a large selection of natural products designed for different skin types, let’s say a few words about the most neglected skin type, the normal one. While most people are concerned about how to get rid of acne or how to control the excessive skin oil production, those with normal skin type also need to pay attention to the choice of their products.
Generally speaking, normal skin can be divided into two separate groups: normal to dry and normal to combination/oily skin. For example, those who have a normal skin with a bit of dryness should use products for normal to dry skin and vice versa, those who have a little bit of greasiness around the nose or forehead should opt for products designed for normal to combination skin.
When it comes to the products’ texture, one can choose the right cream according to their personal preferences. For example, some might enjoy the nourished and well-hydrated skin feel obtained by the enriched and creamy to greasy face creams while others love the weightless fluid-textured products. Regardless of the choice, when the skin is normal, the normal skin type products texture is more about personal preference. Professional dermatologists recommend avoiding the use of harsh brushes and abrasive scrubs as they can seriously damage one’s flawless looking skin.
When it comes to cleansers and makeup removers for normal skin, it is recommended to use gentle ones that can purify the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. In other words, the products should be strong enough to remove dirt, oil and makeup, but soft enough as not to damage the skin. When it comes to the ingredients, chamomile, Aloe Vera, green tea, witch-hazel, evening primrose, mandarin and lavender are some of the many ideal ones for normal skin type products.
Note: Regardless of the skin type and condition, it’s recommended for everyone not to leave the house without applying SPF. During winter and fall applying products that contain SPF 15 or 20 is enough, but in spring and summer a broad spectrum SPF of 50 is more than needed in order to protect the skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays.
